About Shangshang Wang:

Starting from October 2020, Shangshang Wang is a member of the Freigeist-Fellowship research project "Radical Utopian Communities: Global Histories from the Margins, 1900-1950" led by Dr. Robert Kramm.

Research interests:

  • Global Intellectual History
  • Europe and Asia in a Global Context
  • History of Political Thought in Modern East Asia
  • History of Anarchism, Utopianism and Communes in the Early 20th Century

  • 2017–2020: Master of Arts in Transcultural Studies with a focus on "Knowledge, Belief and Religion" in the Cluster of Excellence "Asia and Europe in a Global Context" at Heidelberg University, Germany
  • 2018-2019: Research mobility in the Graduate School of Letters at Kyoto University, Japan
  • 2013-2017: Bachelor of Arts in English Linguistics and Literature at Xi'an Jiaotong University, China
  • 2015-2016: Exchange in the Institute of English and American Studies at Otto-Friedrich-University Bamberg, Germany

Academic employment:
